IZZY LEE
Izzy Lee is a rising star among Boston filmmakers and the national horror scene. Since her transition from writing and programming to filmmaking only two years ago, her political shorts Legitimate and Picket have made waves at festivals BUFF, Mascara & Popcorn, Vivisection, and more. Get updates at NihilNoctem.com.

SUMMER PLANS: Shooting with actress/singer Kasey Lansdale, preproduction for Stuart Gordon’s one-act play Nevermore starring Jeffrey Combs as Edgar Allen Poe (coming this October).

ERIK ANGRA
A highly accomplished editor and director of photography working in a wide variety of genres with a particularly keen eye for natural settings, Erik Angra is also the man behind the scenes bringing Rob Potylo & co.’s madness to the small screen as director of Quiet Desperation.

SUMMER PLANS: On-location documentary shoots on workers’ rights and fracking, competing in this year’s 48 Hour Film Festival.

MCFARLAND & PECCI
It’s tough to say what Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland are best known for; from directing hugely successful videos for Killswitch Engage, shooting magazine covers, filming spots for the Celtics, or feeling the full wrath of Marvel over their Punisher fan film. Odds are you’ve felt the impact of their work, even if you didn’t know them by name.

SUMMER PLANS: After a brief hiatus due to injury, the boys are back at it, with projects big and small in the works simultaneously.

WHORE CHURCH
Hilarious video mixtape terrorists (hilarorists?) Whore Church operate what is without question the most vital page on Facebook, devoting equal time to the worst of the internet, the best of cat photos, and the dingiest corners of VHS culture. After Whore Church Volume 1 was on YouTube for a perplexingly long time, the Bros Vulture found themselves invited to Phil Anselmo’s Housecore Horror festival.

SUMMER PLANS: Music videos, ramping up production of Whore Church Volume 2, and moving closer to their goal of “ultimate suffering for all human beings.”

MICHAEL J. EPSTEIN & SOPHIA CACCIOLA
Drawing on a seemingly endless well of creativity with the energy to bring their ideas to fruition, the level of output from Michael J. Epstein and Sophia Cacciola is nothing short of terrifying. Having conquered the music scene (maintaining more bands than most bands have albums), the duo have caught the film bug after their successful debut of Ten at BUFF.

SUMMER PLANS: Wrapping production on their second film Magnetic, playing every show ever.

MARK PHINNEY
With over a decade of film experience, Mark Phinney’s directorial debut Fat was the brightest local gem of this year’s IFFBoston. A deeply personal (and surprisingly funny) tale of addiction and depression, it’s a universal story that proudly shows its Boston roots.

SUMMER PLANS: Fat is still making the festival circuit, while Mark enters preproduction for his next feature, set to begin shooting this September.
